About Me…

Across the Stiles

I have always enjoyed the outdoors, even as a child you could always find me camping in the garden, climbing trees or paddling in a wild stream. As I have grown older, this love has increased and in the last few years it has really ramped up. You can now find me rambling around the Peaks at the weekend or nature rambling with my daughter, camera never far from hand.

I love being in nature. I love the light and shadows as you walk through a wood, the snow and ice on top of a mountain and the feeling of achievement when I have pushed through the pain barrier for an epic view. I have always been quite introverted but use the great outdoors to soothe both my mind and soul, its the perfect tonic to a bad mental health day.

With a love of photography and writing, I wanted to bring it all together and share some of my trips and journeys, however small, in hope of inspiring you to do the same. There really is nothing better than a hike where you can let your mind wander, take lots of photographs, meet wonderful people and follow it up with a brew. As a woman and a mother, I want to show that adventures are there for all to find, that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have all the gear, never done it before or don’t know where to start, you just have to start walking.

You’ll often find me rambling in the Peaks with my husband Sam, daughter Flo and springer Luna, but often we go further afield including Canada, the Lake District, Wales & Scotland. I am aiming to try bouldering, wild camping and more canoeing too, so stick around for those adventures as we learn them together.

The dream is to move to a far flung location and enjoy the wilderness and outdoors on a more permanent basis. Forging a career where I mix my marketing experience with the great outdoors is also one of my goals- fingers crossed I can take the plunge.

So grab a mug of tea, snuggle up and come on an adventure with me….
