Growing up, I spent a lot of time outdoors. I was the girl making potions with mud and flowers, climbing where I shouldn’t have been climbing and collecting nature’s treasures. As I grew older, my love of the outdoors increased and you can now find me hiking, camping and enjoying small moments in nature. I’m still the young girl at heart with my pockets full of shells, rocks, acorns and feathers.

With a love of both digital and film photography, I love to document my adventures and really soak up those little details in nature that we may have otherwise missed. I am obsessed with light and how it can create different moods. From the golden hours in summer, to the muted light in winter. Winter is my favourite month and you will find me out with my camera, capturing pastel skies, hoar froasts and delicate details. I want my photography to capture moments that others might not see and to tell a story of that moment in time.

I love dramatic snow topped mountains, pastel skies in winter, wild coastlines and fungi spotting in the woodlands. I am also interested in the stories around these amazing places, the folklore tales, the myths and the odd ghost story, these are the things which make these places so special.

I am passionate about the natural world around us and want to protect it for future generations, so I am currently halfway through my BA in Environment Studies. Not only is it a interesting and eye opening course, I hope it will allow me to move onto a new career path in the not so distant future.

The outdoors can solve many problems, it soothes the soul, it calms down my toddler if she’s in a grump and most of all, it helps clear my mind, so if that sounds like you too, say hello or simply make a cuppa and enjoy a post or two.
