Sleeping In The Mountains Shadow
We arrived in Scotland early evening, the air was cold and crisp and two weeks of camping stretched out ahead of us, we felt liberated.
Our campsite was nestled at the base of the mighty Ben Nevis and we looked up in awe at the towering mountain as the sun danced across the face, it was a spectacular sight.
We spent an evening sitting outdoors, warming our hands round mugs of hot steaming tea and watching the lights of the climbers torches meander up and down the mountain in the distance.
The sky grew dark and inky lit up by the millions of stars that glittered in the clear sky. Snuggling down in my cosy sleeping bag, I was content about the prospect of two weeks adventuring and sleeping outdoors.
The mountain was there when we opened our tent. It could scare and inspire in equal measure. A mountain that changed depending on the weather, one moment lit up by a fiery golden glow as the sun set before cloud shrouded it in mystery.
It truly was one of the most imposing views we’ve ever had and I couldn’t help but capture it on camera at every opportunity.
